Broken down? Stay safe while you wait
The most important thing is getting you and your passengers away from traffic. The vehicle can wait.
Once you're safe, call us and keep your phone switched on.

Hazard lights on
Switch them on as soon as you stop. At night or in poor visibility, keep your sidelights on too.
Get out on the side away from traffic
If it's safe, everyone leaves by the doors furthest from the traffic. Leave pets in the vehicle.
Wait behind the barrier
Stand behind a crash barrier or up the verge, well away from the vehicle and the road. Not in front of or behind your car.
On a motorway, use an emergency area
If you can reach one, or the next exit, keep going. Note the number on the nearest blue driver location sign.
Wear hi-vis if you have it
A hi-vis vest makes you much easier to see, especially at night. Don't use a warning triangle on a motorway.
Can't get somewhere safe? Call 999
If you're stuck in a live lane or can't get out safely, stay in the vehicle with your seatbelt on and hazards on, and call 999 straight away.

Common questions
Do you operate at night and on bank holidays?
Yes. We're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year, including nights, weekends, bank holidays and Christmas.

Can you take my car to a garage of my choice?
Yes. We'll take your vehicle to your own garage, your home or another address you give us.
If your garage is closed when we arrive (late at night or on a Sunday, for example), tell us when you call and we'll talk through the options with you. We also do booked car transport and garage runs, like taking a car in for its MOT.
Do you supply new tyres, or just fit my spare?
Both. We can fit your spare wheel, or supply and fit a new tyre where you are.
If you'd like a new tyre, tell us your tyre size when you call (it's printed on the side of the tyre, for example 205/55 R16 91V) and we'll let you know what we can bring. More on our tyre change page.
How much does vehicle recovery cost?
Local recovery starts from £80, jump starts from £70 and tyre changes (fitting your spare) from £90. The exact price depends on the distance, the vehicle and the time of day.
Before we set off, we'll give you a price on the phone. We work out exactly where you are and where your vehicle needs to go, so the quote is as accurate as we can make it.
There's no membership or subscription. You only pay for the job you need.
